Anonymous: Is your dad a hunter? Have you ever killed an animal before?

My dad has hunted, I think. I at least I know that he has sniped prairie dogs with a BB gun from our front porch, because this was a summer past-time for quite a few years before the gun started falling apart.

I have never killed an animal before though. I never went hunting as a kid, but I had a few friends who did and my brother-in-law is an avid hunter. I don’t know if it’s a moral issue. I was a vegetarian for a few years, but never really was that great at it (cooking for myself; balancing the diet; staying healthy, etc). I don’t know if that informs why I haven’t killed an animal or not, but it is something that doesn’t seem to be a high priority for me.
